HISTORY OF AEQSRB
The Architects, Engineers, and Quantity Surveyors Registration Board (AEQSRB) is a statutory body established under the Architects, Engineers, and Quantity Surveyors Registration Act No. 5 of 2008. This Act empowers the Board to oversee and regulate professional practices in architecture, engineering, and quantity surveying within Zanzibar.
AEQSRB’s mandate includes registering qualified architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, technicians, and consulting firms, ensuring that only licensed professionals engage in these fields. Registration under the Act serves as both a license and a certification of professional qualifications. Engaging in professional practice without Board registration is prohibited, safeguarding the public by ensuring that only competent, qualified professionals deliver these essential services.
To qualify for registration in their respective fields, applicants must demonstrate sufficient professional competence and experience, as specified by the Board’s standards.
